With deep reverence and abiding love, we remember the remarkable life of Beverly Jean Shetterly, who departed this world on July 24, 2026, after valiantly enduring a two-year illness. Born on March 6, 1938, in Los Angeles, Beverly graced this earth with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Beverly’s journey began in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, where she entered life under a sky of promise. Her story became one of gentle perseverance and steadfast loyalty—a tapestry woven from the countless lives she touched. Throughout her eighty-eight years, Beverly embodied resilience, compassion, and grace, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family formed the bedrock of Beverly’s life. She is held in loving memory by her family, who carries her spirit forward. Her brother Thomas survives her, cherishing their lifelong bond of kinship. Beverly’s heart overflowed with love for her spouse, Marian, a partner whose presence was a source of strength and comfort; together, they nurtured a home built upon trust and affection.
Her legacy endures through her children: Cynthia (Ron), Penny, and Nicholas (Mashell), whose lives remain testaments to her nurturing and guidance. The beauty and success of Beverly’s family tree are evident in her grandchildren—Amanda (George), Robert (Amanda), Wyatt (Savannah), Justin (DAnielle), and Gracie—each one benefitting from her wisdom and love. With each new generation, Beverly’s impact continues to bloom, as seen in her great-grandchildren: Desaray, Alana, Alex, Aisya, McKinnley, Alayna, Lincoln, Amilia, Wesley, Sophia, and Emmy. Their laughter and promise were cherished rays of hope for Beverly, and she delighted in each moment spent by their sides.
The family also acknowledges with profound tenderness those who have gone before her: her beloved brother James Spake, her grandson Juan "Junior" Najera, and her daughter Vicki Shetterly. Their memories are ever entwined with Beverly’s own—their absence felt deeply, yet their spirits remaining close to heart.
Though her final years brought challenges, Beverly faced them with characteristic courage and remarkable dignity. The strength she exhibited through her illness, the gratitude she expressed for her loved ones, and the stories she shared in quiet moments will remain treasured.
Beverly Jean Shetterly’s presence enriched countless lives, and her legacy will echo through generations. Those who gathered in her company found comfort and welcome, laughter and understanding. In remembering Beverly, we celebrate the gift of her life, the love she so freely gave, and the indelible mark she leaves upon all who loved her.
May her memory be a source of solace, her example an enduring light, and her story a reminder of a life well and beautifully lived.
