Dustin Richard
Crandall
January 1, 1972 — September 30, 2026
Tolleson, Arizona
Dustin Richard Crandall, age 54, a resident of Tolleson, AZ passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 30, 2026. Dustin was born in Mesa, AZ, on January 1st, 1972 to Janice Allen Reed and Richard Henry Crandall. He was the oldest of four children. He attended Whitman Elementary, Carson Junior High, and Westwood High School. At age 14, after years of camping and hiking with his dad, he became an Eagle Scout.
Dustin loved animals—his first childhood dog was Candyman, his favorite dog was a cocker spaniel named Fred, and he loved his lizards and parakeets. He made tunnels around his spaces for the lizards to roam and play. He loved being a big brother, playing baseball, skateboarding (even helping his dad build a halfpipe in the backyard), snowboarding, music, movies, art, cooking, eating ice cream, making and perfecting his cheesecake recipe, no-bake cookies and his famous fudge. Dustin loved fishing with his Grandpa Harold, spending time in Eagar with his grandparents where his love for gardening deepened among their vegetable garden, wild rhubarb, and orchard of cherry and apple trees.
Dustin was a very creative, talented, and thoughtful artist. He would go out into the Arizona desert and collect many treasures, including but not limited to wood and crystals. He made hand painted cribbage boards, beautiful walnut sculptures, and crystal jewelry for his loved ones. He would have a vision for his art of what he wanted to make and would be so focused, lost almost, in the creation of it. His lifelong artistry mediums include painting, drawing, glass, crystals, leather, and wood. He also had to make sure his friends and family knew how to play cribbage on his beautiful boards.
Dustin is survived by his mother, Janice Reed, stepfather, Wylie Reed, sister, Jenna Todd (Jarrod, Lexi and Mia), brother, Scott Crandall (Jacob, Alex and Shayne) and brother, Jason Crandall (Tracy), as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dustin had the biggest heart, the warmest and fullest hugs, and the best laugh.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date with immediate family.
