Dyahanne Ruth Boyce, affectionately known as "Blondye," departed this life on March 7, 2026, in Goodyear, Arizona, following a long illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, intellect, and devotion that will forever echo in the hearts of those privileged to know her. Born on August 6, 1954, on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, Dyahanne’s journey from her humble beginnings to a life richly woven with accomplishments and heartfelt connections stands as a testament to her enduring spirit and multifaceted talents.
A distinguished scholar, Dyahanne earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Mathematics from DePaul University in Chicago—a foundation that propelled her into a remarkable career as a computer programmer and, later, as an esteemed actuarial professional for a major statistical company. Her analytical mind and dedication were hallmarks of her professional life, but they only tell part of her extraordinary story.
Dyahanne relocated to Goodyear, Arizona, in 2000, where she cultivated a vibrant life filled with a multitude of passions. She delighted in the smooth rhythms of jazz, found joy in cooking, and had an unmistakable affinity for the color green, which reflected her zest for life and nature. Beyond these joys, she was a woman of many talents: an avid reader, a skilled seamstress, an interior decorator with a keen eye for craft design, and a devoted cinephile. Her creativity extended into the very walls of her home, where she chose to personally paint and style her surroundings to mirror her unique flair and taste.
Her loving nature was most beautifully exemplified in the time spent dancing with her “one and only” husband, Richard Boyce Sr.—moments of intimate joy that symbolized their profound bond. Dyahanne’s heart was not only given to her beloved but also to her extended family, including stepchildren Ricky, Rollie, Donnie, and Raquel Boyce, each of whom felt her steadfast support and affection.
In the realm of faith and service, Dyahanne’s commitments were both deep and impactful. She was a devoted member of the Board of Trustees for St. Jude Universal Temple, the church where her mother once shepherded the flock. Dyahanne amplified her spiritual contributions through her leadership as Head of the Choir and her talent at the piano, enriching the worship experience with both her voice and her music. These roles were reflections of the profound reverence and respect she held for her late parents—her mother, Reverend Juanita Clemens, and her father, Retired Police Sergeant Officer Lawrence Clemons—whose legacies undoubtedly shaped her path.
Those wishing to pay their respects may attend the viewings on March 18, 2026, at Avenidas Funeral Chapel located at 522 E Western Ave, Avondale, Arizona, from 10:00 to 12:00 noon. This will be followed by a graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 West Thomas Road, Avondale, Arizona, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Dyahanne Ruth Boyce’s life was marked by brilliance, creativity, love, and service—a harmonious composition that will resonate beyond her years. Her spirit, much like the soothing notes of her cherished smooth jazz, will continue to inspire and comfort all who were lucky enough to know her. May her memory be eternal, a green light glowing softly in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
