With heavy hearts, we remember and honor Edward Johnny Vejar, whose journey began on April 21, 1989, in the bright expanse of Phoenix and reached its poignant close on July 10, 2026, in Buckeye, Arizona. Edward’s life, though far too brief, was luminous—etched with deep bonds of family, enduring friendships, moments of laughter, and the gentle persistence of hope.

Edward moved through the world with a disarming sincerity that made it impossible not to be drawn to him. His was a spirit carved from resilience and compassion, buoyed by the love of those who circled closely around him. To know Edward was to know someone who could light up the ordinary and draw meaning from the day-to-day—a son, a brother, a cousin, and, most profoundly, a father.

Edward’s lifeblood was his family, the unwavering root at the center of his existence. His beloved son, Carlos Vejar, remains the brightest star of Edward’s universe, a testament to the love and devotion Edward poured into fatherhood. Left also to cherish his memory are Edward’s mother, Tanya Vejar, whose steadfast support wrapped Edward in comfort through every triumph and trial; his brothers, Benjamin, Frances, Isiah, and Noah, with whom Edward shared confidences, laughter, and a lasting sense of camaraderie; and his sisters, Alisa and Cheyenne, who brought him joy and whose closeness warmed many days.

Edward’s legacy extends, too, to a circle of cousins—Khaiden, Audrina, Angel, Isaac, Stephen, and Amos—each one touched uniquely by Edward’s generosity and humor. This cherished family finds themselves bound even closer as they remember the light he cast into their lives.

On July 31, 2026, the community is invited to a visitation at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, 522 E Western Ave, Avondale, AZ 85323. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Following the visitation, there will be a gathering at the family residence at 24378 W. Verlea Dr., Buckeye, AZ 85396, beginning at 3:00 p.m., where stories and memories will mingle with tears and laughter, as all those who loved Edward remember the countless ways he filled their lives with meaning.

Edward’s memory will remain as vivid as a desert sunrise, alive in the hearts of those he cherished and the lives he touched. As we say goodbye, we hold fast to the lessons of kindness, humor, and love that defined his life. May he rest gently, and may we carry his spirit forward always.
