Gary Allen Rockey

Gary Allen Rockey, passed away on April 24, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. His absence will be felt at many card tables around the valley. Gary was born on March 26, 1947 in Edon, Ohio to Herbert P. and Sylvia E. (Downing) Rockey.

Gary was a kind soul that welcomed new card players to every game he played while helping others learn to play if they weren't familiar with the game of the night.He had several careers before moving to Phoenix to live in semi-retirement.

Gary loved his time spent as the activities coordinator at his RV park. Organizing events & planning parties for his friends in the park was something he truly cherished. He graduated from Edon High School in 1965. 

He is survived by his son Chad A. (& Cathie) Rockey of Glendale, Arizona; three grandsons; his siblings Mary E. (& Terry) Mercer of Devils Lake, Michigan and Dale L. (& Susie) Rockey of Montpelier as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother Timothy P. Rockey.

A remembrance ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 3pm at the Phoenix Metro RV Park clubhouse in Phoenix for friends & family to share memories & stories. The event will also be streamed live via Gary's Facebook page for anyone unable to attend in person.
