Guadalupe Gardea, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, in Tolleson, Arizona, after a long illness at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 14, 1947, in Chihuahua, Mexico, Guadalupe lived a life marked by dedication, resilience, and warmth.
Guadalupe spent many years working as a factory worker manufacturing clothing, contributing her strength and care to provide for her family and community. Her thoughtful nature and strong work ethic were evident to all who knew her. Though her days were filled with labor and care, she found joy in simple things, including having a fondness for the color blue, which was her constant favorite.
She is survived by a devoted circle of family who deeply cherished her presence. Her daughter, Kathia Martinez, and her son-in-law, Marcos Martinez, were a source of immense support, as were her beloved grandchildren: Marcos, Benjamin, Alejandro, Gloria, and Samantha. Guadalupe’s heart also stretched wide for her siblings Rosa, Hector, and Cecilia, who stood close throughout her journey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Casimiro Gardea, whose legacy she faithfully carried forward. She also leaves behind memories of relatives who passed before her, including Velia Gardea, Lucy Castorena, and Arturo Jesus Gardea, who remain embraced in the family’s collective remembrance.
A funeral service celebrating Guadalupe’s life will be held on June 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Avenidas Funeral Chapel, located at 522 E Western Ave in Avondale, Arizona. This gathering will honor the remarkable story of a woman who, despite hardship and illness, remained a source of strength and love for everyone around her.
Guadalupe Gardea’s life is a testament to steadfast devotion and quiet dignity. Her memory will forever be treasured by those whose lives she touched, as a beacon of love, perseverance, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy woven through generations, colored beautifully by the gentle blue hues she adored.
