Janet J. Casillas, a cherished soul whose life was as rich and vibrant as the color red she adored, passed away peacefully at her home in Avondale, Arizona, on May 2, 2026. Born on October 2, 1938, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, Janet's journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and an enduring passion for family and community.

On January 6, 1967, Janet united in marriage with Joe Casillas, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with devotion and shared dreams. Though Joe preceded her in death, their bond remained a cornerstone of her life. Janet’s home was a sanctuary where the warmth of family visits and the joyous melodies of country and Cajun music intertwined, creating a tapestry of memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.

A lover of travel, Janet found delight in journeys to Montana, Colorado, and Arizona, weaving stories from every adventure she embraced. Her culinary talents were renowned; she took great pride in her sewing, cooking, baking, and especially in entertaining and hosting beloved family and friends. Pasta was among her favorite dishes, often served with the generosity and love that defined her spirit.

Janet’s legacy is reflected in the large and loving family she leaves behind. She is survived by her children Jackie, Alfred, Barry, Ernie, Angel, Rayeann, and Holly; grandchildren Bradley, Crystal, Tyrone, Malcome, Amy, Kari, Chantel, Leslie, Barry, Serena, Heather, Marcus, Adam, Aaron, Feliza, Taylor, Anthony, Kyle, Sasha, Ashley, and Austin; and an abundance of great-great-grandchildren who carry forward her memory. She also leaves behind her brothers Terry and Roger, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who cherish her remembrance. A heartfelt acknowledgment is extended to Mary Duran and Jessie Sanchez for their unwavering support during her final days.

Janet’s life was enriched by her proudest accomplishments—her mastery of sewing, her exceptional culinary gifts, and her unparalleled ability to create joyous gatherings that drew family and friends together under one roof.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Joe Casillas, her son Al Loser, and daughter Holly Holman, whose memories remain tenderly engraved in her story.

A graveside service to honor Janet’s remarkable life will be held on May 9, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at The Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery, located at 23100 West Buckeye Road, Buckeye, Arizona.

Janet J. Casillas’s life was a testament to love’s enduring power, the joy found in simple pleasures, and the unbreakable bonds of family. Her presence will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered with great affection and reverence.
