Kevin Lee Erickson, born on November 5, 1964, in Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away suddenly but surrounded by his loving family on March 18, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. His unexpected departure has left a profound emptiness, yet the warmth of his memory envelops all who knew him.
Kevin was a man marked by his unwavering passion and loyalty—a dedicated and lifelong Carolina Panther football fan whose enthusiasm for the game was infectious and inspiring. His love for the Panthers was not just a pastime but a thread that wove joy and camaraderie throughout his life, connecting him with family and friends in shared moments of excitement and hope.
Born and raised amidst the rugged beauty of South Dakota, Kevin carried with him the spirit of his birthplace wherever he went. Though he journeyed far from the plains of Rapid City, he remained grounded in the values and love instilled in him by his family. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Gordon Willis and Doris Jean Erickson, as well as Larry Erickson, William Erickson, and Laura Skyberg. Their memories continue to live on within him and those who loved him.
Kevin is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings—Kenneth, Gary, and Linda—and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, who cherish his presence in their lives. To them and all who were touched by his friendship and kindness, Kevin was more than family; he was a beacon of strength, joy, and steadfast support.
Plans for a celebration of life are pending in South Dakota, a fitting tribute in the place where Kevin’s journey began. It will be a time to gather, remember, and honor a life that, though ended too soon, shone brightly and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
In the quiet moments without Kevin, his spirit will remain ever present—the cheers for his Panthers, the laughter shared with family, the silent strength that carried him through life’s trials. He was a son, a brother, a friend, and a fan whose heart beat fiercely and whose legacy of devotion and love will never fade.
Kevin Lee Erickson, you will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close in the hearts of your family and friends. Rest peacefully.
