Lois Ann Wilson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona, after a long illness. She was born on December 20, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio, and her life was marked by compassion, dedication, and a spirit of generosity that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lois was a fiercely devoted member of the nursing community, providing exemplary care as a staff member at nursing homes in Pomona, California, and Caribou, Maine. Her career was not just a job; it was her calling. Throughout her years of service, she received numerous nursing awards, a testament to her outstanding work and the profound impact she had on the lives of her patients.
Education was important to Lois, and she laid a strong foundation as a Certified Nurses Assistant after graduating from Upland High School in California. Her knowledge and skills only enhanced her natural ability to care for others, making her a cherished figure in the lives of many.
Lois was known for her compassionate and caring personality. She had an innate ability to provide comfort and kindness, which shone through in every interaction she had, whether with family, friends, or those she cared for professionally. Her love extended well beyond her work; it was evident in every aspect of her life.
Lois loved the color purple, enjoyed the taste of smoked chicken, and found joy in the music of her favorite group, Earth, Wind & Fire. She cherished moments spent watching movies, marveled at zoo animals, and delighted in trips to the casino. Each of these interests spoke to her vibrant spirit and love for life.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Samuel L. Wilson, and her loving children: Lindsay Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Evelyn Wilson (Ebay), and Samuel A. Wilson Jr. (Angelica). Lois also leaves behind her cherished brothers and sisters: Brian Smith, Ambrosia Mathews, Louis Mathews IV (Amanda), and Lee Mathews, as well as her nieces, nephews, and cousins: Louie III, Tiffanie, Brandon, Anthony, Ashley, and Wesley. The grief of her passing will be felt profoundly by all who knew and loved her.
Lois was preceded in death by her dear parents, Louis James Olive and Evelyne Mathews, who instilled in her the values of love and service that she carried throughout her life.
A Celebration of Life honoring Lois will be held on December 24, 2026, at the First Christian Church in Yucca Valley, California. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 AM, with services concluding at 11:00 AM, to celebrate the remarkable life of a truly extraordinary woman.
Lois Ann Wilson's legacy of compassion, caring, and unyielding support for those around her will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and all who had the honor of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on through the lives she has touched.
