In Loving Memory of
~ Mark Anthony Ramirez Sr. ~
(Brother Mark)
Mark Anthony Ramirez Sr., affectionately known to many as "Brother Mark" and to his family as a devoted husband, father, and leader, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, in Glendale, Arizona, at the age of 68.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Mark dedicated his entire life to answering God’s calling. He poured his heart into building thriving church communities across Arizona, driven by a deep desire to help those most in need. Through his lifelong ministry, he left an indelible legacy of "bus kids" who grew up to become helpers, teachers, and loving parents themselves. His profound impact will be felt for generations to come, and his faithful service to God lives on in the countless lives he pastored, taught, and mentored. Mark’s life was beautifully reflected in his cherished scripture, 1 Timothy 1:16: "Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting."
Mark's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Y. Ramirez; his eight children and their spouses, Rebecca C. Rivera (Luis), Mark A. Ramirez Jr. (Charlotte Mae Pasignasigna), Sarah M. Henriquez (David), Virginia E. Williams, Susanna A. Ramirez (Esequiel Montes), Vienna A. Ramirez, Cecilia E. Ramirez (Ty Chandler), and Nathan C. Ramirez.
He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life: Sophia Rivera, Norah Rivera, Caiden Rivera, Esperanza Ramirez, Isabella Ramirez, Gabriella Ramirez, Chloe Domosmog, Amara Ramirez, Mateo Ramirez, Theodore Williams, Julia Montes, and Calla Montes; and his four sisters, Norma Ramirez-Martinez, Nadine Torres, Liz Andrade, and Debbie Chavez.
Service Details A celebration of Brother Mark’s life and ministry will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:30 AM. Location: La Iglesia Evangélica Bautista 2925 W Polk St, Phoenix, AZ
