Nina Sue (Thompson) Wogoman, died on July 23, 2026, at the age of 56, following a 12-year battle with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. Born on February 17, 1970, at McCray Hospital in Kendallville, Indiana, Nina was the daughter of Lester “Butch” and Marsha Thompson.

Nina grew up near Big Lake, Indiana, where she spent her younger years surrounded by friends, family, and the familiar beauty of northern Indiana. Though her true home wasn’t a place, home to Nina, was with her beloved husband Robby Wogoman. She shared 31 devoted years with her husband, Robby Wells Wogoman. Together, Nina and Robby built a life filled with love, laughter, family, travel, and countless memories.

In 2017, Nina and Robby relocated to Arizona to be closer to their children and grandchildren. The move was another chapter in a life defined by adventure and an openness to trying new things. Nina embraced change with the same bold spirit she brought to everything else she did.

Nina was an adventurous, bold, and deeply empathetic woman. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people and make them feel welcome. Her warm, inviting spirit drew people to her, and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.She loved spending time with Robby, traveling, and simply being present with the people she loved. Her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy, and she loved playing with them, laughing with them, and making memories that will live on in their hearts. Nina loved sunshine and water, and she found beauty in the simple things—especially sunrises, sunsets, and the wonder of nature.

Nina also had a gift for words. She loved writing poetry and possessed an exceptional ability to put profound thoughts and feelings into words. Through her writing, she often expressed the kind of meaning that could be difficult for others to articulate. Her words, like her love, will remain with those who knew her.

Nina was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 31 years, Robby Wells Wogoman, in 2021, and her mother-in-law, Janice Perry, also in 2021.

She is survived by her two daughters, Desirea Burdette (Daniel Burdette), of Albion, Indiana; and Ashley Wogoman, of Avondale, Arizona; her two Sons, Joseph Wogoman (Abby Wogoman), of Arizona, and Kory Wogoman, currently of Indiana and formerly of Arizona; Parents Lester "Butch" and Marsha Thompson and her sister, Angela Driver (Greg Driver).

Nina was a proud grandmoth er to Jocelyn, Lyla, Justice “Buddy,”and Logan Wallace, Brayden, Bryit, and Baylor Burdette, and Henry, Lucy, and Thomas Wogoman. She is also survived by her nieces, Rebecca and Raella Driver; and nephews, Noah Driver (Molly) and Nicholas Driver (Madelyn).

Nina’s life was also enriched by several close friendships that grew far beyond friendship and became family. She was fortunate to have people in her life who stood beside her through good times and difficult ones, sharing laughter, memories, and love. Their presence meant more to Nina and her family than words can fully express.

She also cherished her in-law relationships and the extended family those relationships created. Nina loved and valued the people who came into her life through marriage and family, and she embraced their children as her own. These bonds were an important part of the family she built and loved.

Nina lived life with an adventurous heart, a fierce sense of individuality, and an ability to find meaning and beauty in the world around her. She loved deeply, laughed boldly, and left an impression on the people fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered not only for the life she lived, but for the way she made others feel—seen, welcomed, and loved.

And, in true Nina fashion, she apparently had one last joke planned. Nina used to laugh that she would be the last one to arrive at her own funeral. True to form, she managed to keep everyone waiting—and, about a month and a half after her passing, her daughters are finally delivering the obituary she was always destined to have the last word about.

Her life was full of stories, her heart was full of people, and her words will continue to speak for her. Nina Sue Wogoman will be deeply missed and forever loved.
