Norma Galvan, a beloved mother, sister, and devoted community member, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on March 16, 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas, Norma lived a life filled with dedication, love, and memorable passions that touched those around her deeply.

Norma’s journey took her from her early days in Fort Worth to the halls of Creighton Middle School and Camelback High School, her education shaping the foundation for a life grounded in hard work and kindness. For 27 years, she dedicated herself to her role in the meat department at Bashas supermarket—a place she not only worked but loved with all her heart. Her commitment to her job was a testament to her strong work ethic and the joy she found in her daily contributions.

Beyond her professional life, Norma was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys, proudly displaying her affection for the team and her favorite color, blue, which reflected her strong and vibrant spirit. Her tastes were notable, especially her love for green chili burritos and the Arizona Burrito Enchilada style, specialties that echoed her Southwestern roots. Music was a bright thread in her life’s tapestry; while country music filled her soul, she embraced the smooth rhythms of Keith Sweat and the powerful melodies of Mariah Carey, enjoying the soundtrack of her everyday moments.

Norma’s family was the center of her universe. She leaves behind her cherished children, Steven and Antoinette Galvan, who carry forward her legacy of resilience and love. Her oldest sister, Teresa Galvan, along with her brother Joe Galvan, stand with heavy hearts yet proud memories. Norma’s warm spirit also lives on in her grandchildren, Yesenia “Destiny,” Noemi, Xavier, Damien, and Aaliyan Cruz, who knew her as a source of unconditional love and joy. Nieces and nephews, including Krystal “Alexis” Rodriguez (Angel), Joseph Galvan, Johnathan Galvan, Raymond Galvan, and Andrew Patterson, remember her fondly and carry forward the family bonds she treasured.

The family mourns the loss of two beloved souls who preceded Norma: her mother, Caroline Galvan, and her baby sister, Trinidad Galvan. Their memories, like Norma’s, remain cherished and profound.

A viewing to honor Norma’s life will be held on April 13, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Avenidas Funeral Chapel in Avondale, AZ. Her funeral service will take place the following day, April 14, at 10:00 AM at the same location, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery beginning at 11:30 AM.

Norma Galvan’s life was one of dedication, warmth, and steadfast love. She is remembered not only for her work and passions but for the depth of her heart and the smiles she shared so freely. Though she has left us, the bonds she forged and the love she sowed will forever illuminate the lives of all who had the blessing to know her. May her memory be a gentle comfort to all who grieve and a shining light guiding them forward.
