Raquel "Rachel" Aguilar-Valenzuela
August 29, 1973 - June 9, 2026
Raquel “Rachel” Aguilar-Valenzuela, age 52, passed away, of a stroke, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born on August 29, 1973, in Phoenix, Arizona to Leopoldo Aguilar and Irene Garcia. She was the baby of the family. Rachel was a beloved mother, nana, daughter, baby sister, tia, cousin and friend.
Rachel attended Carl Hayden High School. She excelled in all her classes from auto mechanics to English poetry. She was a straight A student and she made school seem effortless. Rachel was special and gifted and different at a very young age. Though she was shy, she was never unnoticed. Her mind was brilliant and her unique heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Rachel was a beautiful person, inside and out. She had a smile that could melt your heart. Very intelligent, extremely creative and deeply compassionate, she was blessed with many gifts. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, valued and loved. And if you were loved by her, you hit the jackpot! She would go out of her way to remind you of your beauty and worth. Rachel loved in a way that filled empty spaces and healed hurting hearts. Her love, and kindness, knew no limits, and her faith in the Lord was inspiring to all who knew her.
Rachel will be remembered for her love, loyalty, honesty, and kindness. She was always willing to help, whether it was cooking, cleaning, baby sitting, decorating, packing, or moving. She was a great listener who offered genuine advice and encouragement. Rachel was many things to many people: friend, confidant, cheerleader, caregiver, anchor, advocate, chef, artist, and poet. She created gifts with her own hands, from the heart, to those she loved and cared for. She wrote poems tailored specifically designed for you. She could draw anything and do it beautifully. She had a passion to cook and cook so good, she did! With only a few ingredients, she could create a gourmet meal. She approached life with logic, faith, and grace, always reminding others to trust God and His timing. She would pray out loud, “for the full armor of God to protect us and to surround us with angels!”
How blessed we are to have had this extraordinary human being touch our lives. Her absence will be felt for a long time to come. As the baby of the family, this hits hard! She held a special place in the hearts of those who loved her and will be missed beyond measure.
Rachel leaves behind her three children: Gilbert, Kanein and Miami Valenzuela; her grandchildren, Noah, Mariena, Oliver, Xander and Marcellus; and her loving brothers and sisters; Isabel Servin, Yvonne Aguilar; Ramon (Carol) Garcia; Alberto (Terry) Aguilar; Iesha Garcia; Roberto (George) Bejarano; Irene (Tony) Valencia; Leopoldo Aguilar Jr., Jesus Aguilar; David (Anjanette) Aguilar; Isabel Aguilar(Henry); She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Rachel is preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers; Juan, Rick, Joe, Tony and Ernie, and 5 sisters; Sally, Sara, Martha, Rose and Maria Elena.
