Raymond built his life with steady hands and a hardworking spirit.

Raymond of Soto, born June 15, 1943, in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away at home in Phoenix on October 19, 2026, with family at his side. He was 83 years old.

A lifelong son of Phoenix, Raymond built his life with steady hands and a hardworking spirit. He graduated from Phoenix Union High School and went on to work as a carpenter and cabinetmaker by trade, a craft that reflected both skill and patience. Those who knew him will remember a man whose life was shaped by work, family, and the simple pleasures that brought him joy.

Raymond had a deep appreciation for music and played musical instruments, finding happiness in the sounds and rhythms he loved. He especially enjoyed Tejano music. He also loved spending time fishing and camping, and he treasured traveling to Sedona, Flagstaff, and throughout northern Arizona. In the everyday moments of life, he found comfort in the colors black, blue, and white, and he enjoyed eating hamburgers and fresh doughnuts—small favorites that will bring warm memories to those who loved him.

Above all, Raymond’s greatest legacy lives on in his family. He is survived by his children: his son Raymond Soto and Raymond’s wife, Maria; his daughter Patsy Soto; and his son Daniel Soto and Daniel’s wife, Samantha. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Raelene Soto, Raymond J Soto, Roman Soto, Reanna Soto, Reina Soto, Andrew Soto, Tori Soto, Brandon Soto, Daniela Soto, Gabriella Soto, Breanna Soto, and Daniel Jr. Soto. He is also survived by his sister, Angie Padilla. The love of this family, gathered around him in life and at his passing, stands as a lasting tribute to the place he held in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, Nicholas Soto and Julio Soto.

Raymond will be remembered with love for the life he lived, the work he did, the music he enjoyed, and the memories he created with those closest to him. May his family find comfort in the many moments they shared with him, and may his memory continue to live on in each of them.
