Rebecca "Becky" Chavez Hernandez, age 65, of Laveen, Az, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 2, 2026, at Ryan's House Hospice Care Center in Phx, Az, following a brief illness. Born on Aug 22, 1960 in St. John's, Az, Becky was the beloved daughter of the late Vito and Katie Chavez.
Becky spent many years working in a variety of roles for the State of Az, but the work she treasured most was being a devoted wife, mother, and nana. Caring for her family was her life's greatest joy, and she gave her love, time, and heart freely to those she cherished. Becky was a woman of deep faith who loved God and found comfort and joy in worship music.
Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family touched everyone who knew her. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply be present for those she loved. In addition to her parents,
Becky is preceded in death by her brother Albert, her sister Joann, mother in law Betty, father in law Faro, brother in law Freddy, and several nephews. She leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years, Frankie, her daughters Angela, Stephanie, Rebekah, and Nicole; her 8 cherished grandchildren Jeremiah, Genesis, Alexis, Ariel, Junior, Imari, Frankie, and Angel; and her bonus great granddaughter Cassie. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply and forever hold her memory in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date. Additional details will be shared by family.
Though Becky is no longer with us in person, her love, faith, compassion, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
