Sheila Louise Galica, a beautifully sassy and remarkable woman whose presence lit up every room she entered, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2026. Born on June 11, 1947, in Milwaukee, Sheila was the cherished daughter of Daniel and Dorothy Masters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Daniel Jr. and John, her sister Kathleen, and her first husband, Glenn Sr.

Sheila spent her childhood and early adult years in Milwaukee, where she completed her schooling and married. She later settled in the Town of Erin near Hartford, Wisconsin, where she began raising her family. Eventually, she and her family embarked on a new chapter, moving west to Arizona, where she continued raising her children and later enjoyed her retirement years.

Family was Sheila’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She often joked that she had earned the title of “Greatest Meema of the Year” 23 years in a row. Being a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife was not just important to her — it was who she was. She was the glue that held her family together, always steady, always strong, and always loving.

Sheila was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and generosity. She opened her heart and her home to many people over the years, taking in those in need and offering them comfort, safety, and acceptance. To so many, she was more than a friend — she was a second mom. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome.

Christmas was her favorite holiday, and it showed in the way she joyfully decorated her home inside and out. Countless cherished memories were made there as she graciously hosted holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings filled with laughter and love.

Sheila is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, David Vanbruggen; her beloved children, Glenn S. Galica Jr. and Shannon M. Galica; and her cherished grandchildren, Nathaniel, Kacee, Alexander, and Cameron Galica. She is also survived by her sister, Marti Roter, and her brothers, Will Masters and Tom Masters, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life honoring Sheila’s legacy will be held on February 26, 2026, at Palm Valley Church, located at 431 North Litchfield Road in Goodyear. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by additional time to gather, remember, and celebrate her life.

As we reflect on Sheila’s life, we remember the laughter she shared, the strength she showed, and the love she gave so freely. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her — a lasting legacy of family, generosity, and togetherness.
