In Loving Memory of Stephon Hural Ross

Stephon Hural Ross, age 34, passed away at his home on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Stephon was born on August 18, 1991, in Chicago, Illinois, to Brenda Fields and the late Hugh L. Ross. He was the fifth of twelve siblings. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Fields.

In 2019, Stephon left Chicago and moved to Arizona to start a new life. Not surprisingly, Surprise, Arizona, is where he met and married his wife.

Stephon was baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38) and added to the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12) on December 20, 2020, at Goodyear Church of Christ.

Stephon honored Jesus weekly by serving at the Lord's Table and participating in Bible studies. He consistently and gladly greeted and introduced himself to everyone who visited, ensuring they felt comfortable when they came through the doors to worship. He always encouraged others to stay and fellowship during potlucks. Stephon planted seeds through his conversations, shared the gospel with coworkers, and distributed tracts and food boxes to those in need.

Stephon studied and researched his Bible daily. His favorite book was Proverbs. If you happened to challenge him with anything, "Bet" was his response, and he was always game for it. He loved to eat, relax in the backyard with his wife, play with and care for his dogs, host gatherings at his home, play on his PlayStation 5, and participate in baseball, football, and basketball. He also enjoyed shooting pool, throwing axes, talking on the phone with his mother and siblings, spending time with his brothers in Christ, going out with family, traveling, and spending time with the children he loved. He and his wife could often be found "twinning" in matching outfits.

Stephon worked various jobs to provide for his family. However, his passion was geriatric care. Not only was he a Certified Caregiver and Medication Technician, but he was also a caregiver at heart to everyone he met. Whenever you saw him, it was impossible not to notice his magnetic smile and uplifting spirit. He rarely ran out of things to say and was always known for color-coordinating his outfits with his wife.

Stephon leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife, Tishune Marie Ross; children by marriage, Yukeena Deane and Mikeah Tiquaylah; his mother, Brenda Fields; brothers, Michael Farquhar, Teune Ross, and Zyell Lofton; sisters, Chanta Fields, Ladetra Fields, Jazmaine Ross, Tasheka Ross, Zatiana Ross, Jasheena Norris, and Ianna Lofton; father-in-law, Curtis Braziel; mother-in-law, Denice Braziel; brothers-in-law, Will Miller and Ernest McCrory; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Stephon's life was marked by faith, service, compassion, and love. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
