William Edward Hanna, a beloved educator, coach, and family man, passed away on February 17, 2026, in Sun City West, Arizona, after a long illness. Born on February 12, 1952, in Manhattan, Kansas, William dedicated 48 years of his life to making a difference at the Cartright School District, where he served as a teacher and coach in various sports including football, baseball, basketball, and wrestling.

William's academic journey began at Highland Park High School, where he excelled as an all-state football linebacker, showcasing his athletic talent early on. He continued his education, earning a BA +30 from Trenton State College, a testament to his commitment to both learning and teaching. His career in education was marked not only by his dedication to his students but also by his passionate involvement in coaching, which brought joy and motivation to countless young athletes.

Outside of his professional life, William was characterized by his vibrant personality and diverse interests. He had a deep love for dancing, painting, and karaoke. His enthusiasm for country western music was matched only by his fondness for travel, always eager to explore new places and create lasting memories. William enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including his favorite foods like White Castle hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as his favorite color, blue.

William is remembered fondly by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Trinket Clifford, along with his children: Christopher Hanna (Amanda) and Ashley Pisicotta (Chris). He also cherished his stepsons Ryan Direnzo and Justin Rahl (Erycka), as well as his beloved grandchildren, Morgan & Miles Pisicotta and Jordan William & Jacob Hanna.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Murray Hanna and Marion Eleanor Evon Hanna, and his sister, Barbara Forguites. Their memories continue to live on in the hearts of those he left behind, including his family who will forever cherish the moments they shared with him.

William Edward Hanna’s legacy extends beyond the classroom and the field; it is woven into the fabric of the lives he touched through his kindness, laughter, and unwavering dedication. He will be deeply missed.
